Gladys Mosaïque

Après le succès de l'exposition de l'an dernier, l'association "Opus Mosaic"  organise un nouvel évènement qui aura lieu du 25 mai au 25 juin 2009 dans la ville d'Exeter en Angleterre.
J'y participe cette année et j'en suis vraiment contente. Le thème de l'expo est "Heavens Above", traduction pour les no-english spoken like me : "Les Cieux Là-haut". Environ 75 mosaistes y participent et c'est une exposition ouverte à tous même amateur...

Pour accompagner "mon oeuvre", je dois rédiger un petit texte pour expliquer ma mosaique, mon interprétation du thème...les matériaux utilisés...
Voici donc "my statement" (et merci à Kathleen pour son aide à la "Translation!!!!)

“HEAVENS ABOVE” ! When I learned the theme of the exhibition, I immediately saw a very coloured picture with different graphic elements, in movement and forming a whole.
We find stars, clouds, a tornado, the planet Saturn, a dove with all the colours of the rainbow in its feathers, a fish (a reference to the sign of the Zodiac), flowered bubbles coming from our Planet Earth…
I did not choose a religious or astronomical interpretation or any other… I just saw this picture in my head that I transcribed into mosaic on a painter’s canvas, using French materials like the ‘Emaux de Briare’ (enamels) both mat and glossy, but also molten glass, millefiori, and coloured glass… to obtain my “Heavens Above”.
